I hate these ones the most (and yet somehow they're better than almost all of Red Pill Blues lmao). These are Sugar, Feelings, In Your Pocket, and Animals. Then there's the 4 atrocities: 4 songs that dive so far down in quality and tolerance that they are almost irredeemable. There's Coming Back For You, which is eh, Leaving California, the definition of boring, New Love, an annoying piece of garbage, and then there's more songs that are just so obnoxious, desperate, and tired.
Maps is my 5th favorite M5 song, and It Was Always You and Unkiss Me are decent, but the rest of this album ranges from mediocre, to bad, to awful. It's still a 1/10 because I'm still giving this album a 9/100. However, I will say that with Mickey Madden's inclusion, the song Visions, and the entertainment value, this is a bit better than Jordi. This was made to appeal to 2017 pop, and while it's not dated, it's still abhorrent. Closure is 11 and a half minutes of nothingness, shit like What Lovers Do, Cold, Wait, and Girls Like You are extremely irritating, and stuff like Lips On You and Best 4 U just flat out suck. Visions is the closest to decency, but it's rather subpar and the production is too pop pandering for me. Don't Wanna Know is the worst M5 song, and the rest don't help make up for it. Jesus Christ, where the hell are the actual instrumentals? Where are the good lyrics? Where's the identity and soul? Nowhere imo. Button is the worst Maroon 5 song in my opinion. If I take out the non-Maroon 5 songs and the remixes, that's still 7 out of 12 songs with another singer.Īlso, forget what I said about Don't Wanna Know. By the way, 9 out of the 14 songs on here have featured artists. I'm guessing they added in featured artists to fill up the songs. The songs are very short, with many many many repetitive lyrics (see what I did there? I swear, I'm funny like Mr. The songs are very short, with many many many repetitive lyrics. I feel like this album is incomplete in some ways. But don't worry, it's all terrible (except HER's vocals). One minute, you're listening to Adam sing about breaking up for the 690th time, the next minute you hear a Spanish featured verse in Button.
carrying a mature song, but then the next minute, you hear Adam rapping in Seasons. What I mean by this is that one minute, you hear H.E.R. It's just an album that just shifts in overall tone, but remains at a consistent quality. With that aside, I wasn't expecting this to be THAT bad. So yeah, in short, I'm a horrible person. It's not like Family Guy, where it's painfully annoying with no redemption, it's painfully annoying and laughable to me. It's just entertaining seeing them do anything to be on the charts. I kinda like laughing at modern Maroon 5. I was wishing for this to be bad to be honest. Just my opinion my dear children in the basement:
